Industrial Automation Sensors
Industrial Automation Sensors - Strategi Automation
Sensors are a crucial element of today’s technology, aimed at sensing physical changes
in the environment and converting them to electrical signals that can be easily
understood by the machine. These signals, therefore, allow the machine to have
the ability to make decisions based on the changes that have occurred in the
environment. Therefore, the main reason for the significant contribution of
sensors to the field of automation, robots, and Internet of Things (IoT) is
their ability to provide real-time signals.
Sensors
have been widely used in the field of industrial automation to sense various
environmental changes such as temperature, pressure, proximity, motion, light,
and humidity. For example, the use of proximity sensors has been widely applied
to determine the presence or absence of objects, which helps the machine to
perform its tasks accurately. Temperature and pressure sensors, on the other
hand, have been applied to ensure the proper functioning of the manufacturing
process by maintaining the appropriate conditions and by monitoring the
pressure of fluids and gases, respectively.
In the field of robotics, Sensors are used in such a way that the
robot is able to interact with the surroundings in an intelligent manner. This
is possible because the robot is able to detect obstacles, measure the distance
between the object and itself, and even recognize the object. This is very
important in the field of robotics, as it is used in assembly work, handling of
materials, and inspection systems.
Another important role played by sensors is in the Internet of
Things. This is a system in which devices are connected in a network and are
able to communicate with each other. This is possible because of the presence
of sensors. Smart homes, smart factories, smart cities, and many more are
possible only because of the presence of sensors. Sensors are also used in
smart buildings, in which the amount of energy being used is detected. This
helps in making the environment comfortable.
In summary, it can be said that the role played by sensors is very
important in the field of efficient and precise monitoring. This is because it
is able to convert the changes in the surroundings into signals.
